1.What do you do?
Advisory Link specializes in working with corporations to help them market and sell more successfully to women, and to recruit, retain and promote women within their organizations. I also create Exec-U-Link groups comprised of executives and women business owners and Women’s Advisory Boards.
2.What are Exec-U-Links?
One of my Exec-U-Links is comprised of a group of high-level corporate executives and exceptional women business owners (WBOs) who meet three times a years to discuss issues important to them. Our agenda provides an opportunity for each member to receive valuable feedback from very successful woman in a confidential, non-confrontational and highly productive meeting. Our entire meeting focuses on the members and their issues, challenges, best practices and successes.
3.Tell us about your new book.
Leading the Way to Success is written by several leadership gurus. It teaches tools and provides guidance businesspeople need to further their careers. http://advisorylink-dfw.com/books.html
4.Why did you write it?
The majority of leadership books, including this one, focus on the male gender. In today’s complex, global world, companies need diversity in their upper echelons and women need to be more assertive and in control of their advancement and professional development. My part covers both of these topics.
5.What type of people should read your book?
Everyone in business who wants to survive this economy and grow stronger rather than weaker. It can be read by a recent college graduate or someone in the C-suites. However, they will get different take aways from the book.
6.What makes you an expert in your field?
My business has focused on women since the early nineties, before most people even recognized there was a woman’s market and they were a force in the workplace. I have been considered an authority on both selling to and recruiting women for more than 15 years. I have been featured in or quoted in numerous national publications. I also hold a MBA degree with a focus in Marketing.
7.Are you on any social networks? Eg. Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn
Yes, on all three. Twitter http://twitter.com/glmyers, LinkedIn http://www.linkedin.com/pub/9/499/130 Facebook http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/profile.php?id=1349075080 .
8.Advice for Businesses
There is more than just acknowledging the power of women; there is understanding their communication, managing and buying styles. Once you appreciate their styles and differences and realize they are the key to your future, then develop a comprehensive plan of action with the necessary resources allocated to achieve success.
